My first outside run- HOY

So I just finished my first outside run of the season (actually I don't know that I actually ran outside last year--- i probably haven't run outside since trainnig for the half marathon in 2007). It was pathetic- 2 miles ( I totally thought it was 3- imagine my amazement when I drove it right after) in 20:47- the time isn't so bad-SO a bunch of things become very obvious:

1. I have NO ability to pace myself outside.
2. My main mental block is my cold induced asthma. It's 50 out- it shouldn't be a factor- and I wasn't weezing, but in my mind I totally couldn't breathe.
3. I need running clothes. the U of R jacket I had on way way to heavy and not breathable- I think I have to go shopping today.

I KNOW I can do it- I was doing 13 miles in the fall of 2007. It's just incredibly frustrating *(coupled with the fact I have no patience). I have a 5 mile run scheduled for tomorrow- on the treadmill probably because it's supposed to be rainy and cold here- but for sure I"m going to have to do 1-2 of my runs a week outside (which means in the evening- which means finding some source of motivation).
